Stacey David, Education Director

Stacey David has been the Education Director at COS-SJCC since

1998. Born in New York and raised in New Jersey, Stacey was

educated within day schools, summer camps and youth groups.

During her college years Stacey lived and studied in Israel,

where she learned about the culture and developed fluency in

Hebrew. Returning to the states, Stacey graduated from CUNY

Hunter College and Tel Aviv University with a Bachelor's degree

in Hebraic Studies, followed by a Master's degree in Early and

Elementary Education. This blend led to professional work in

Jewish organizations in New York City, particularly for the American

Zionist Youth Foundation where she was the coordinator of special

events and programs including the Summer Shlichim Program and

Salute to Israel Parade. Simultaneously, Stacey held positions at

synagogues as a religious school teacher and later as director.

Since she began her position with COS-SJCC Stacey has pioneered and launched many new programs and exciting, innovative projects for the children and families. She has implemented new curricula and methods of teaching, hired progressive and well-learned teachers, and has elevated the religious school significantly and importantly within the community. Under her leadership the religious school has grown and become a welcoming, enriching experience for the families.

Stacey is a graduate of the first cohort of the Leadership Institute for Congregation Principals from 2005-2007, a graduate of the first cohort of the Center for Israel Education at Emory University from 2015-2016 and received a certificate from the Congregational Learning Leadership Initiative at the Jewish Education Project from 2016-2017. Currently, Stacey is the NJ Regional President and National Board Member of the Jewish Educators Assembly (JEA), a group of conservative educators. She has been honored with the prestigious Conservative Jewish Educator (CJE) accreditation; she was the Co-Chair of the Jewish Educators Assembly National Conference in 2016; she is the Chair of the Greater MetroWest Education Directors Network; and a Board Member of NAACCHHS North American Community and Congregational Hebrew High Schools. Stacey has also been a Mentor of the Davidson Graduate School for Education at the Jewish Theological and a mentor of the CDA licensing certification program for early childhood educators. In the summer of 2017 Stacey was part of the Alexander Muss High School in Israel Educators Seminar and in 2018 a member of the JNF-KKL World Conference of Jewish Educators.

Stacey lives in Livingston with her husband Oren David, owner and CEO of Bavelle Technologies, along with their children Yael and her fiance' Ben Brenner, Merav, Liat, Adi all of whom were confirmed and graduated from the JLC. They are frequently seen boarding Israel Airlines.
